Dental Surgery & Implants
What Are Dental Implants?
When a tooth is too damaged to save due to decay or fracture, extraction may be necessary. Fortunately, a dental implant offers a reliable solution. A dental implant is a titanium post that acts as the root of a new tooth and is restored with an abutment and crown. For healthy patients, implants are predictable, long-lasting, and function just like natural teeth.
After extraction, a bone graft or membrane may be needed to ensure sufficient bone for implant placement. Only local anesthesia is usually required, and healing is often easier than expected. Typically, three to four months of healing are recommended before placing the abutment and crown, giving you fully functional, natural-looking teeth. Implants are an excellent alternative to dentures as they stay securely in place.
Am I a Candidate for Implants?
A comprehensive evaluation is essential to confirm adequate bone and healthy gums. This includes dental X-rays and a clinical assessment of surrounding teeth and tissues. At Jyotika Dental, we also use advanced 3D imaging (CBCT) to precisely plan implant placement. In some cases, additional procedures like sinus lifts or bone augmentation may be required. Our highly trained dental surgeons are experienced in all aspects of implant surgery.
We understand that dental surgery can be intimidating. Our team is committed to making your experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible using the latest technology and techniques.
Gum Surgery, Grafts & Lifts
Whether for cosmetic or functional reasons, your gums can be reshaped or enhanced. Procedures may include:
-
Crown Lengthening: Extending the visible portion of a tooth
-
Gingivectomy: Recontouring gums around teeth
-
Gum Grafting: Adding tissue to restore gum health, sometimes using minimally invasive “pinhole” techniques
Our board-certified periodontist specializes in advanced gum procedures for both health and aesthetics.
Full Mouth Rehabilitation & Implants
For patients with extensive dental damage, chewing and smiling can be challenging. Implant-supported prostheses provide a stable, natural solution that does not shift like removable dentures. At Jyotika Dental, we combine 3D CBCT imaging with digital scans to design a smile that is both functional and beautiful.
Every full-mouth restoration is carefully planned weeks in advance with our interdisciplinary team, including surgeons, cosmetic dentists, lab technicians, and anesthesiologists, ensuring a seamless, life-changing procedure.
